My nephew Grant came for a visit this weekend. The kids had fun playing dodgeball, mowing the lawn, sweeping, eating ice cream and watching a movie together. Aren't I just the best Aunt! We had so much to do this weekend because we are leaving in just two weeks for Ukraine! Sorry Grant it probably wasn't as much fun as usual. We will make it up to you next time :) You were a good sport anyway.

Disneyland, 2008
Disneyland is one of our families favorite holiday traditions. Not knowing if we will be here for the Christmas holiday this year, we decided to go to Disneyland earlier than usual. Kevin reminds the kids and me every time we go about how much fun he had helping to build some of the rides like Indiana Jones and propelling the Matterhorn to repair the plaster! He reminds Garrett how he couldn't wait to take him on the Indiana Jones ride for the first time when he was about 6 years old so he could see what his Daddy built! Garrett got off the ride to say the very thing his Dad wanted to hear..."I don't like this ride and never want to ride it again." Kevin paid him a dollar to try it again. He has liked it ever since.

A Reminder to My Kids
It is such a bummer that we didn't have blogs years ago. I love putting the pictures on the blog so I don't have to make a scrapbook. Did you know you can download your blog into your own personal book? It is way cool! I want to do this each year so I can show the kids that their parents were part of their lives and we did make memories. So when they say "we never get to do anything", I will get the book out and prove it! It is fun for me to see too.

To Julian with "Kaptain Fun Guy"
Today we decided to be spontaneous! Our usual boring Saturday routine is to do chores around the house. Today we said, "Who cares about the chores, lets get out of here!" We decided on Julian. Julian is know as the town of Petticoats and Pistols. We have had so much uncertainty with the whole adoption deal, that we needed to have some fun. Kevin, put on his "Kaptain Fun Guy" (aka Kevin F. Greer) smile and away we went. We had fun shopping and picking apples. Can you tell from the pictures my kids like candy!
This was our first time in Julian. I have heard about great hiking and beautiful waterfalls. Next visit I would like to explore out of the town. It was a beautiful place. We enjoyed an extraordinary fall day of about 78 degrees in the California mountains!

LA County Fair
Yesterday, we had a blast at the LA Fair for a school field trip. It was a nice break. It was only about 100 degrees! It was so hot and muggy. The kids stuck their heads under the facet to cool off. I wanted to but I didn't. We watched the pigs race, made rope, made a rag rug, walked around and saw the animals and had fun with our friends.
